PACKING & SHIPPING REGULATIONS
- Unless another value is declared (and appears on customers receipt), in advance of shipment, each parcel shall be deemed to have a maximum value of $100 if carried by UPS or FedEx, and no value if carried by some USPS services. The entry of a COD amount or Customs Value is NOT a declaration of value.
- Any item received for packing and/or shipping may be opened by Super Postal or carrier for inspection.
- Articles of a hazardous nature or those prohibited by the carrier or any governmental body shall not be accepted. Customer assumes all liability and responsibility for any illegal or hazmat shipment(s).
- Customer accepts full responsibility for damage to any article packed by customer. Customer is responsible for determining proper specifications for the contents prior to packing. Further information is available at the specific carriers websites listed below.
- Super Postal reserves the right to cover any and all shipments with third-party insurance, as opposed to Declared Value coverage direct from the carrier. It is important to note that all carriers and third-party insurers have limits, restrictions and conditions which have to be met but vary from one to the other. Any further conditions, limitations, restrictions or other references to “the carrier” below also apply to all third-party insurers.
- In no event shall Super Postal be liable for any consequential, incidental or special damages which may arise from loss, damage, non-delivery, or delayed delivery. This limitation shall apply to, but not be limited to, damages for loss or profit or income.
- Customer warrants that the address label is complete and accurate, and agrees to hold Super Postal harmless for packages that are lost or misdelivered because of an inaccurate address. If carrier is required to correct the address or deliver to another address, customer agrees to pay reasonable fees associated with this additional service. Address correction charges will also apply to any UPS, DHL or FedEx shipment sent to a P.O. Box or Rural Route Box. Address corrections may result in delivery delays that neither Super Postal nor the carrier can be responsible for. In addition, carrier may not reroute or dispose of undeliverable shipments at no cost if the undeliverable shipment is not related to a service failure. Undeliverable shipments will now be returned via service of carriers option at the Customer's expense. SPC reserves the right to hold any return shipment until Customer reimburses SPC for the return shipment fees.
- Customer is responsible for furnishing adequate information to permit Super Postal and the carrier to investigate claims for loss or damage. Such information shall include consignee's name, address, telephone number, date of shipment, parcel contents, proof of value, and package ID number.
- Before requesting tracing of an undelivered package, customer must verify non-receipt with the consignee. All tracing and tracking is to be done by Super Postal personnel.
- Under-insurance – full value of parcel contents must be declared at time of shipping. If a lesser value is declared and damage occurs, a penalty may be incurred. The following formula may be used: [Total Declared Value/Full Value of the item(s)] x the lesser of the repair costs or the total loss report.
- Co-Insurance – Super Postal Center does not permit the use of customers individually arranged insurance or co-insurance – including but not limited to a Homeowners Rider. Customer (shipper) or consignee’s use of private insurance shall void-in-full any coverage declared with Super Postal Center, our carriers and/or our third-party insurance company, and under no circumstances will Super Postal Center have any liability of any kind for said shipment.
- Claims for Service Failures, Loss and Damages must be submitted within the specific carriers time frame. The following is to be used only as a guideline, and will vary by carrier and is subject to change:
-
Service Failures – notify carrier within 15 calendar days from date of shipment.
-
Loss & Damage – notify carrier within 90 days from date of delivery on Air/Express, or 9 months from date of delivery on Ground.
-
For carrier/service specific policies, please refer to the websites provided below
- In the event of parcel damage, Super Postal will process a claim if all of the following steps are taken by either the customer or the consignee:
- Notation of obvious damage on the carrier's delivery document;
- Retention of all cartons and packing materials;
- Photos are taken of damaged item and all packaging;
- Notification to Super Postal within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt;
- Cooperation with Super Postal’s instructions for processing the claim.
- In the event of loss or damage of any article, Super Postal’s liability shall be limited to the lesser of (a) the actual cash value of the article or (b) the amount necessary to repair or replace the article, or (c) the amount declared by the customer, in writing, at the time of shipment. It is important to note the “under-insured” penalties stated in Section #10 above.
- Carrier may deny any claim for damage caused by "shock" to sheet glass, electronics, or other items not suitable to the shipping environment. Super Postal will not assume liability in these cases.
- In order to establish actual cash value in the event of damage or loss, customer is responsible for furnishing Super Postal with an original invoice, receipt or appraisal which is not more than six months old. The amount declared by customer at the time of shipment is not an acceptable proof of value.
- Customer agrees that once a claim for loss or damage has been paid, customer waives all rights to file further claims on that particular shipment.
- In the case of items shipped via United States Postal Service, customer is fully aware that claims or tracing is impossible without the purchase of special services at the time of shipment.
- Undeliverable packages must be collected by customer or reshipped at additional charge within 30 days of written notification. Super Postal may attempt to notify customer of undeliverable packages by telephone before sending written notification.
- Delivery times and dates are estimates based on information provided by carrier. Super Postal will not be liable for failure of carrier to effect a timely delivery. Only shipping charges are refundable on "Guaranteed" shipments. Super Postal shall not be liable should carrier refuse refunds.
- Super Postal shall not be liable for failure of carrier to collect COD moneys.
